Deciding on what product or service you will promote in a niche market should be based on a simple principle. There should be a demand for your product or service. You want to offer something that people actually need, something that will make their lives better, make them feel better physically, make them look better, or help them solve a problem. Once you have chosen a product or service to market, researching to find the right niche for your product or service is the next most important part of beginning a niche marketing program. The things that you need to know are where they spend their time online, and what makes them tick from a personal and business point of view. There is niche marketing software out there that can help you learn these things about your potential niche market.

The next thing you need to learn as you research your online niche market is what you can reasonable charge for your product or service. The best and most effective way to do this is to visit sites that advertise products or services similar to what you have chosen to sell. It should be easy to see if they are giving away a service or selling the product at a price far lower than you would have to charge.

If you can determine that there are people out there who are willing to spend money to buy what you are selling and you can identify with those people, then you have a niche marketing product or service that can make money on the Internet. Sometimes it takes reframing your product or service to make it more attractive, better or just different than what others are selling it for. Research is the key to successful niche marketing.

This article is from Google themselves giving a very insightful guideline to writing better performing ads. It’s very basic, but it is a critical step a lot of novice advertisers don’t understand. This is exactly the same thing I told a client who had wasted $600 before realizing that it was a big deal. So read this and increase your business:

Your potential customers decide to visit your website based solely on what they see in your ads when they type in a search query, so ad texts play a crucial role in determining the success of your AdWords advertising.

In the video below we share with you our best practices for creating winning ad texts. These will provide you with ideas to test when writing your ads, which will help to differentiate your business from the crowd and drive even more relevant traffic to your website!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GI7tsbwnVk

Use keywords in your ad title and ad text

The easiest way to improve the performance of your ads is to think about how to make them more relevant to your potential customers. You’ve chosen keywords that are very specific to your products or services -- and therefore relevant to your target audience -- so the next step is to make sure that the ads which are matched to these keywords relate closely to them.

Including successful keywords directly in the ad title is an effective way of increasing clicks because customers can immediately see the link between the keyword they used in their query, your product, and the content of your website.

In addition, using words from your keyword list in any line of your ad text means these words will appear in bold to users who searched on them. This helps to draw the user’s attention to the ad and further highlights its relevance.

Think about it from a user’s point of view -- if you type in ‘digital camera’ would you rather see a general electronics ad, or an ad that includes the term ‘Digital Camera’ in its ad text?

Direct your users to the right page

Ensure that the destination URL you use for each ad brings users to a specific landing page which relates directly to their search. For example, if a prospective customer is searching for ‘8 megapixel cameras’, the ideal landing page would feature this exact type of camera.

Add a call-to-action to your ads

Try using a call-to-action in your ads, as this will give your potential customers a clear indication of what they can expect to do on your site. For example, calls-to-action such as ‘Buy Now’, ‘Sign Up Today’ or ‘Order Online’ can be really effective in increasing your ad’s performance.

Include your unique selling points

Your ad text should make you stand out from your competitors and highlight your unique selling points. These can be products, prices, delivery offers or services that make your business unique, attractive or different. Have a look at your competitors’ ads and see if you can make your ad stand out by highlighting what you offer that no-one else does.

Remember your customers will choose you over others purely based on the benefits that your ad is selling. The more information about your product that a user can gain from your ad text, the better. For example, if a user sees the price of a product and still clicks the ad, you know they’re interested in a potential purchase at that price. If they don’t like the price, they won’t click your ad, and you save yourself the cost of that click.

Inter-capitalize the ad text

This may sound obvious, but using appropriate capitalization in ads can really have an effect on how they look. See below for an example of two ads -- which one would you click on if you were looking to buy a new camera?

8 mega pixel cameras
10% off digital cameras
free delivery buy today!
www.camerashopsite.com

8 Mega Pixel Cameras
10% Off Digital Cameras
Free Delivery. Buy Today!
www.CameraShopSite.com

The second ad looks more professional and is more eye-catching to users. Look over your existing ads and see can any of them be improved by something as simple as adding a few capitals to the beginning of words. And remember this can apply to the display URL as well, as shown in the second ad text.

Log into your account today, and edit your ads to make them even more compelling to your potential customers!

When designing a website it is very important that you have an anchortext that links back to your home page and throughout all pages of your site. Usage of Flash and Java is usually just fine from the user’s point of view. But search engine spiders cannot use this so still you would have to include a text link as well.

If it is possible you should always use relevant anchor text in your home pages instead of just using the plain old and very boring “HOME” link.

Home page is the most important page in your website, so it is fairly important that that this page has a good backlink from each and every page in your site. This is one good idea and an easy way to create a good internal link arrangements and this also makes the search engines easily indexed your website.

You should always keep in mind that this linking is not just for the Home page in your site, but also to the other important pages in your website. A good example is if you have a blog site, then you want to increase its ranking for some particular and specific article, all you have to do is to give it a side – wide link on all of your previous blog posts.

It is good practice to do this on a constant basis so that you have a strong internal linking system in place. The better structured you are the easier it is for search engines to index your pages. The more indexed pages you have, the higher chances of traffic you’ll receive.

Just remember that there’s more to it than just internal linking and on-page search engine optimization. Search engine marketing is still one of the largest factor in your search engine domination.

Keep in mind that more traffic does not guarantee more profits. Getting traffic to your site is only the first step of every business. Once you have a visitor, you need to have a powerful, direct response, sales letter ready to take orders and build leads. Otherwise, all your efforts will go to waste.

Here’s something I haven’t touched base on but would like to emphasize at this time. There is a reason why I refer to my clients as “clients” and not customers. It’s a little something I picked up from Jay Abraham.

When I talk to business owners, I usually refer to their clients as customers because that is how most businesses see them. But now I want you to take a different point of view.

If you’ll look up the word “client” in the dictionay you will find its definition to be: “One that depends on the protection of another.”

Now, if you’ll look up the word “customer” you will find its definition to be: “One that buys goods or services.”

Now ponder on this, would you rather be my client, who I protect, or my customer, who simply purchase goods or services from me? It’s a very simple question that will help you look at your buyers a different way.

We all want to be protected, we all want to be relieved of pain and we all want to know that someone is there to help if we need it. So start thinking of everyone who purchases your products and services as your clients rather than your customers. Remember to respect them and appreciate them; do that and they’ll be your life-time source of income.

You see, while most marketers are only focused on finding new clients or getting more unique visitors to their site, the smart marketers are also consistently working on getting their existing clients to buy more often. And maybe even buy much higher ticket items. It’s the oldest trick in the book.

By building trust between you and your clients they will hold you accountable for everything you send to them. No matter the cost, your customer loyalty will mirror the appreciation you give them.

————
Your Takeaway:
1) You need clients, not customers.
2) Your clients need protection, will you protect them?
3) Don’t mistreat your clients, they’re your vital source of income.

Here’s a very deep secret not many Internet experts are willing to share or actually point out without a fee. Part of the reasons to their success is that they were among the first to start it all. If you’ll remember hearing the term “first come, first serve”, it’s the same way online.

People usually remember who was first, not second. For instance, who was the first to sell books online? Amazon; who was second?

Who was the first to start mass production cars? Ford; who was second?

Which company was the first to start the fast-food chain restaurant? McDonalds; who was second?

Who was the first to build an airplane? The Wright brothers; who was second?

I’d ask you who was the first to walk on the moon but that is too controversial to discuss.

Did you at any time notice the crickets when I asked for the second provider?

I do hope you are getting the idea here. We all tend to remember who was first but seldom do we remember too much further than that. Whomever enters the market first usually makes the biggest impression. Most of our Internet gurus are filthy rich because they were first to present their products. Is that fair? Well, from their point of view, of course it is. But from ours, it is not very desirable.

Now you are thinking that you have to be first at something to become rich but you don’t know what to be first at; so, you think it’s impossible. Take it easy, my friend. There are ways around it. Let me ask you a question. Who owns money?

Did you try saying Bill Gates? Did you try saying Donald Trump? Did you even try saying George Bush? It doesn’t matter WHO you claim to own money, you are wrong. NO ONE owns money. Bill Gates has money, Donald Trump has money, George Bush has money and YOU have money but no one will ever own it.

Though money is man-made it is much like nature. No one owns it. No one owns the weather we feel, no one owns the water we drink, no one owns the air we breathe and so on.
“Oh, but people own land!”

Do we really? This, too, all has to do with perception. Since ancient history people have spilt their blood to claim land as their own. To prove my point, can you think of why anyone would risk their lives to own a piece of land? It’s because they don’t own it.

Owning land today is made possible through legal paperwork. It then creates a perception in our mind that the land belongs to someone – the land is in someone’s name. Great Britain claimed America to be theirs and we lost many lives to claim it as our own. After many deaths and a binding agreement, America was finally ours. It was a perception the world saw and accepted.

My point is this, money belongs to no one so don’t think you cannot become as wealthy as any other guru you know of. And notice that I never once said being first automatically makes you rich. That’s not always the case and that’s why I say the first will make the biggest impression.

If you are not the first to present a product, or the creator of a product, you must present it to those who have not seen the product. This is made possible through affiliate programs and reseller programs. As an affiliate you earn a small percentage of a sale and as a reseller you make whatever percent the original owner gives you. In most cases, it is a 100% profit for you. So you see, the opportunity is readily available to you even if you were not first in line.

If wealth was made for only those who were first in line, then there would be no such thing as a line. They might benefit before us but it doesn’t mean we won’t benefit anything.

“We are what we think all that we are arises with
our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make our world.”
-The Buddha-

————
Your Takeaway:
1) The first in line will benefit first.
2) Money is not owned by anyone so it can be transfered to anyone.
3) Present the products to those who have not yet been exposed to.

For your product or service to be worthy of a customer’s exchange of money, it all depends on the perception of its value.

Does your product or service provide a solution to their problems?

You have to face one important fact. People make purchases due to wants, not needs. Everyone needs water but there are dozens of name brand water bottles to choose from. Your parents (or significant other) don’t ask you “do you want to eat today,” they usually ask “WHAT do you want to eat to day?”

Many things in life aren’t particularly needed, they’re wanted. You might need a computer for work but do you REALLY need a state of the art $3,000 computer? You might need an alarm clock but do you REALLY need one that plays CD and cassettes AND the radio? No. It’s just your perception and your only justification is that it satisfies your need.

Your product or service doesn’t have to be the best in the world. It just has to have the perceived value that your customers are looking for. If they feel they “need” it, then they will buy it. But the only way they will think they need it, is up to you. You must convince them that this is what they have been looking for and that this is their solution to all their problems.

You see, ALL buyers look for relief or a solution to their problems.

Ask yourself these questions.

“How can I make money on the Internet?”

“How can I raise my child to be a good person?”

“How can I get a date?”

“How can I read faster?”

Provide a solution to these questions and you will be banking mad cash. As a matter of fact – people have! That’s why we have business opportunities, that’s why we have parenting classes, that’s why we have dating agencies, and that’s why we have reading programs that train you to read faster.

Remember, the value of your product perceived by the customer is what will determine your sales.

————
Your Take Away:
1) You don’t have to change someone’s “point of view” change the ‘view.’
2) Find the solution and the money will find you.

Several months ago I started a “family project.” It was project where I conducted to see if my siblings could learn Internet marketing and make some money off of the Internet. I’m sure it’s pretty clear by now that the family project was a total failure. It’s just not as easy as I had hoped. You really can’t push them around as much as you would a friend or someone you hardly know.

You can try and motivate them, but all they see is “if you’re doing it, why should I?” If it was a friend or someone I hardly know, the mentality would be “if you’re doing it, I’d better be doing it too!”

Unfortunately, I was met with a bunch of lazy kids. This project has been stamped with a huge “F.”

Though my sister Hang has learned more SEO, I am teaching her some web designing as well. She still hanging on by a thread, so I’ll still continue to tutor her.

My father-in-law, seems to have lost focus on the projects he was suppose to do. Must have lost faith in himself. I’ll just have to motivate him a different way. I guess I can see it from their point of view. They’ve never done Internet marketing before and really don’t know the true power it harnesses. They don’t see that they could be making thousands of dollars nearly overnight.

I guess that’s why I’ll need to run a few individual projects of my own to inspire them.

Sorry, the family project has failed. Better luck with another one, right?

Sincerely,
Kevin Lam
