I was eager to be there and listen to what these guys had to say about SEO trends. Too bad I didn’t bring my digital recorder. I only thought about it as soon as I sat down in the bright red chair, which I keep sliding in. I was not impressed with the time management. I was very surprised and disappointed with the information they provided and the answers they gave.

I think you’d be as shocked as I was to hear the answers.

My biggest upset is with this:

Question: In respects to social media websites, such as Twitter, how does a business professional, like myself, implement and entertain the concept of obtaining clients for my business?

Answer: I don’t know. I really don’t know because there is no answer to that. In fact, Twitter is still trying to figure that out themselves. I know someone who has a list of 100,000 followers and gets absolutely nothing out of it.

Now… these are social media experts, alright? Experts on social media… shouldn’t they know how to make money from it? If not, why be an expert in it?

The REAL answer to that question is COMMUNICATION!

Yes, there are such factors such as what type of business industry, product, service and so on, but the NUMBER 1 way to getting business out of sites like Twitter is COMMUNICATION.

You have to post updates. You have to initiate conversations. You have to maintain connections. You have to follow up. This can be VERY time consuming. But that’s what it will take to get clients off of these sites.

It works. No doubt about it.

However, there are automated services to initiate conversations. There are automated services that automatically responds and talk to individuals. There are automated services that automatically add and remove followers (and non-followers, respectively).

Finally… just outsource the damn thing! It’s not hard. It will save you time and money.

Most of all, Twitter already figured out how to make money. They have their own PPC program where you can send out ads to folks who mention a specific keyword term… oh, but Twitter still doesn’t know how to make money yet. Sure.

SEO Trends

Yes, they did mention that Google indexes Twitter updates. That’s news from like October, 2009 or something. I can’t remember for sure.

However, why didn’t they mention that Google is also indexing Facebook pages? Wouldn’t that be something important the audience should know?

How ’bout the idea of Google “PR” no longer being called PR?

Question: I remember the good ol’ days… like last month… when I do a search for “web design dallas texas”, I would get a local map results, but now they’re gone. Why is that?

Answer: Just like many of the beta programs Google comes out with, they sometime stay beta for years and never really get released. With this in particular case, Google has determined that certain keywords require maps and some don’t. I.E. someone searching for a dentist would want to know exactly where it is, but one who searches for a design firm might not care for a map.

Actually, the answer to the question was pretty dead on. The reason I bring this up though is that, I think everyone there missed the importance of this answer. The person who answered probably doesn’t even realize it.

To an SEO, this is huge. It should be ringing the fire alarm and gun shots are going off to indicate that this is CRITICAL information. I’ll keep this to myself unless I get enough inquiries about it.

Website Feedback

One person there got some feedback from the panel on how to improve his website. Most of the advice was pretty sound, but still lacking in terms of importance.

You need a 301 – check.
- Yes, a 301 redirect will definitely be helpful for his site since his site loads individually with and without “www”.

You need better titles – check.
- Yes, a more descriptive title (max of 63 characters) will help with ranking better.

You need to use alt tags – check.
- Yes, having alt tags in your images will help generate traffic via the image search engines and get the images indexed.

You should use less codes – check.
- Yes, search engines like Google do consider a codes to content ratio. It’s just part of their quality score and will considered when ranking your site for specific search terms.

You should have a site tracker – check.
- Yes, you should have a way to track your visitors and see what they are doing. However, they should not be scaring the guy as if it’s the end of the world. He DOES still have his weblog, which provides much similar data, but in raw format. As much as I like Google Analytics, it is still only about 75% accurate in picking up data.

These are good stuff, but here’s what’s missing (and no, I won’t cover everything, but these are important):

Don’t worry about the meta keywords.
- Google doesn’t use them! Yet they’re still telling this person to concentrate on that. Here’s proof.

Include meta descriptions.
- Oh, yeah! This is ultra important in your search results. Well, important to the user, that is. Description meta tags are NOT included in Google’s score to determine how well you rank. However, what you describe is important to the user and determine whether they want to look or not.

I’m not going to say it.
- I was trying to help the guy out, but he blew me off when I told him about the description meta tag. He’s missing out on an instant 5-figure income just by implementing this simple concept. It’s sad, but it’s not my problem. Let’s put it this way – ranking better and higher is the LEAST of his concerns.

Well, that’s all for tonight. There’s just too much to talk about. Have a good one and I hope to provide more useful information for you in the future.

As an extra bonus tip for you, since you’re reading, if you’re concerned about keyword density. Don’t. Keyword density absolutely does not matter. What’s important is the flow and ease of reading your content. Concentrate on connecting with your users rather than the search engines. Search engines like to play hard-to-get, so just ignore them.

Sincerely,
Kevin Lam

P.S. I almost forgot. The guys there kept saying “content is king”. No it’s not and even if it is, backlinks is queen. And we all know the queen controls the king (look at the game Chess!).

Just because you wrote it, it doesn’t mean you’ll instantly and magically have visitors. It REALLY depends on the level of competition, how many people are writing about it, how many people are searching for terms related to it, how well your site is ranked, when your page/post was indexed, how many backlinks it has and so on.

Point is, the content must have relevance to the search queries and the page/post should have good backlinks to ensure getting visitors. Yes, there are times I’d write about something and I’d immediately get traffic. That is not always the case though.

Blogs have increased popularity over the past few years. Many people have started to create their personal blogs to express their thoughts and feelings. Internet companies have also started their blogs to inform consumers on the latest product news and reviews.Because of this, blogs are also being used as internet marketing media. Before, internet marketing is done by placing banners and links on popular websites, such as news and information sites. Links were also included on newsletters and marketing letters sent to the members of their mailing lists.

Many people spend time reading blogs. People read their friend’s blogs, their favorite author’s blogs, blogs on topics that they are interested in, and blogs on product reviews. With the increasing popularity of blogging, it is even feared that people rely on blogs to get the latest news.

While getting news reports from blogs isn’t reliable, some people look for product reviews through blogs. In some cases, this is more dependable. While it is true that some media persons are being paid to write good reviews about a certain product, blog writers write about their actual experiences on products and services from a company.

Since there are many people who read and start their own blogs, blogs are a good medium to market a product. With the increasing blog traffic means increase in product sales.

Blog traffic can be increased by joining affiliate programs and sites, which will list your blog under a certain search category or name. You can also have your blog advertised in popular websites. This, however, will cost some money and is not advisable if you have just started blogging.

A writer who has just launched his/her blog will want as much traffic as possible to increase advertisements on the site. Also, some advertisers pay every time their link is clicked or the page that has their link is viewed.

When you have increased traffic on your blog, you should try to keep you visitors coming back and recommending your blog to friends and colleagues.

This can be done by having informative or amusing content and good blog layout and design. You may develop your blog’s content or you can also acquire the services of a web content writer to provide you with the blog articles.

The blog’s layout and design also plays a big role. While most of the companies offering free blog hosting offer pre-selected templates, there are also some that allows customization that if you utilize this feature correctly can increase your blog’s traffic.

Here are a few tips to make your blog stand out from the millions of blogs out there that have standard designs.

* Customize the banner

The banner usually has the most generic designs that are common to the blogs from a blogging company or service.

You can personalize this banner by having a graphic with the dimensions of the banner. You can also edit the graphic so that it will also include the title of your blog.

In this case, you can create your own graphic or you can purchase professional looking graphics online for less than $10.

* Personalizing photos

Of course, most of the photos that you will be posting will be your own. However, if you don’t customize the photos before posting them, you may miss maximizing the enhancing benefits graphics can add to the page. Adding photo borders can help the photo stand out from the page.

It can also add to the design of your blog. You can choose a standard border or you can also create your own border which can be associated with your blog’s templates.

* Add a favicon

Don’t you think sites with icons on the address bar before the website’s URL are cool? Many people do. These favicons add a professional look to the URL. These easy to do using photo or graphic editing softwares.

* Check out blog templates, layouts, backgrounds, textures and skins from sites

There are sites that offer free blog templates, layouts, backgrounds, textures and skins. You can make use of these so your blog will not look generic like most of the blogs hosted by the service provider.

* Include RSS feeds

This is a cool way to inform people with newsreaders about your blog headlines. Tutorials on RSS feeds are available on the internet.

* Audio makes your blog more personal

Not only does audio personalizes the blog; it can also keep your visitors coming back. You can try having streaming radio stations, mp3 file or playlists loading with your blog.

* Advertisements

If you have signed-up with Google Ad-Sense, which I am sure you would like to do, make sure that the ads are conveniently placed that these will not hinder your readers’ ease in accessing the information on your blog.

Try using these tips and you can definitely increase and retain traffic on your blog.

Podcasting is becoming a bigger attraction to people everyday. It is an easy thing to get involved in for anyone who wants to create a podcast. Just follow these easy directions and you’ll do great! The first thing necessary is access to a web server. The user needs to be able to upload files to the server itself, so podcasting can’t be done from a simple blogging or journal site. It’s probably best to register a domain and find a host for the site.

Once the site has been set up and the user has access to the host server, a small program called dircaster.php should be customized for your site, and can be used to automatically generate the RSS feed that the subscribers will download. The mp3 files should be uploaded to the proper directory after all the information about the file has been attached. After they are in the directory, the address of dircaster.php, as long as it is in the same directory as the mp3 files, will generate an RSS file that will tell your subscribers where to download the latest podcasts from.

To update and and a new episode, create and upload the new mp3 file to the same directory. When dircaster.php is accessed, it will recognize the new file and relay the information on to your visitors.

With these steps, it is easy for anyone to create a podcast with a small expenditure of time and effort. The site is easy to set up; domains and hosting are now cheap enough almost anyone to have a small site, and the programs necessary are all easy to find and use.

Well, SEO enthusiasts and webmasters, are you ready?

Just kidding. In all actually, the game hasn’t changed, just the name of it will be. However, I think some people will feel very lost after getting this news because all this time they thought high PR was the main reason for ranking. It’s not. There’s much more to it.

The Internet has now become an important medium for product and service advertisements. Almost every company that can afford print, radio and TV advertisements have also ventured into placing ads on the Internet. But with millions of websites out there being visited by millions of computer users, how can you make sure that your ad can be seen by your target customers and that your leads will be followed by these users? Here are a few tips.1. Place an ad on the websites frequented by your target customers. Before doing this, you need to define who will be your target customers. Placing an ad on sites that they usually visit will increase the possibility that your ad will gain the attention and will be followed your target customers.

Also, consider the website’s search engine placement, traffic, external linking and the other ads placed on it. External linking will determine if there are other sites that link to this site. This will mean that people can get to the site where your ad is placed, even if they are browsing a different site. Check if many of your competitors have ads on this site.

2. Placing ads on some sites cost some money. However, there are also sites that can place a link to your site, product or service in exchange of having their link being displayed on your site. This is also true about the newsletters sent by site owners to its mailing list members regularly.

Also, having helpful links placed on your site and having sites link to your pages help in boosting search engine ranking. This is similar to making a statement that your site’s content is important that other sites have links to your web pages.

3. Pay-per-click (PPC) is also a good method in Internet marketing. You will only need to pay for the ad if the link is clicked. If you prefer this method of advertisement, make sure that you are using services that set limits on daily expenses. There are also services that help you determine effective keywords and monitor the PPC results.

4. Choose your domain name wisely. It is still being debated if domain names matter when it comes to search engine placement. Whether it does or not, having product related domain names help consumers remember your domain, that they can go back to your site even without the links.

5. Make sure you have useful content on your sites. While keyword density is important in search engine placement, having useless information or annoying repetition of keywords will not increase your customer’s confidence in your site. It may even affect your sites traffic and can get your site removed from search engines. So make sure that keywords are used strategically.

6. When thinking of keywords, think like your target customers. What do you think are they going to search so they can get to your site? Also, use specific keywords or key phrases. Submitting a single word or a very general phrase to a search engine will not get you to the top of the search results compared to submitting specific keywords that describe your product and services perfectly.

7. Track your ads. Always check how much you have spent on placing links on frequently visited sites and on PPC. There are services that allow you to monitor PPC transactions and how many of these end in sales. You always need to consider if the ads that you have placed on these websites are getting you to your target consumers and if these ads can lead to revenue.

One final tip on marketing products and services, sell the benefits. It will help your marketing strategies a lot if you highlight the benefits of choosing your products and services instead of merely discussing the product specifications. Product specifications may not mean much to customers, unless they know what these stand for (how these specifications affect the quality of the product or service).

Many people say getting to the top of search engine results is difficult since millions of websites exist, which can be using the same keywords. While this is true, this doesn’t mean that your website has to stacked under your competitors’ websites when presenting search engine results. Strategic advertising and linking, together with useful content, can also get you to the top of the search results.

I was on Facebook last night and noticed an ad for “12 Cent SEO Backlinks”. Sounds pretty good. It then continued with, “Unlimited one-way SEO links…on autopilot. True “Set and Forget” SEO linking. Just 12 cents per link. Check it out!” I smelled doo-doo, but I couldn’t ignore it.

Being an SEO person, I was interested to see what it was about.

Apparently you can buy 1,000 anchor text backlinks at a time for $127. Now, keep in mind that these 1,000 anchor text backlinks are split up among 5 blog sites. So it’s 200 anchor text backlinks from each site with a various number of posts.

Let’s just assume they’ll post 2-3 anchor text backlinks per post. That is between 66 and 100 blog posts. For the sake of argument, let’s just say 75 blog posts per site is pointing to your targeted URL.

In a way, it’s great that you get 1,000 backlinks, but in all reality – WAKE UP! THIS IS TOTAL BS.

In THEORY, you’ll have 1,000 backlinks, but do they really actually matter?

Let me prove my point. Think of a popular blog.

Let’s put Matt Cutt’s blog on for display. His blog has a PR7 (his domain has a PR5, just fyi).

Now if you look at his blog entries, what are their PRs?

Most of them are 0. Yeah, 0. How much link juice will you have from a PR0 page?

You see, Google doesn’t care about the PR of your domain when it comes to backlinks, they care about the PR of the PAGE you are getting a backlink FROM! So it doesn’t matter if the blogs LinxBoss carries are at least PR5.

Let me have you do another test. Here’s a URL to one of Matt’s blog entry:

Blogging news stories as they unfold is one of the most exciting and controversial applications of technology that bloggers have discovered. One thing that makes the blogosphere so active is the fact that it is possible to update a blog instantaneously, so the news on blogs tends to be more current than the news in the paper, or on television. Unlike news delivered by these other media, news that appears on blogs does not have to travel through a series of editors and administrators before it reaches the public eye. This has some advantages, and some distinct disadvantages. One of the most notable cases of news hitting a blog before appearing in other media took place in July 2005 when terrorism struck London. As passengers were evacuated from a subway car near an explosion, one man took several photographs of the scene with his cellular phone, and within an hour these images were posted online. First-person accounts of the catastrophe began appearing on blogs soon after these photos appeared, and people all over the world learned about the events in London by reading the words and seeing the photos posted by bloggers.

The fact that these stories and images were being spread directly by individuals operating without the added filter of a reporter helped to make the crisis feel very immediate to people across the globe. When it comes to blogging, news often appears in a very personal context. This has the potential to be the beginning of an exciting new era of reporting, one that takes “New Journalism” to it’s logical next step by putting the power to shape how the news is written and read directly into the hands of the public.

Many bloggers and cultural commentators who are champions of the weblog movement feel that this growing trend of individuals who getting their news from blogs is a good thing, because it makes the flow of information more democratic. By decentralizing the control of news, blogs allow more voices to enter the field of debate about important current events. However, many people are adamantly opposed to the use of blogs as news outlets, and there are plenty of good arguments on this side of the debate.

Unlike newspapers or television stations, few blogs have fact- checkers, and there is little attention paid to journalistic accountability on many blogs. This can lead to the rapid spread of misinformation, and more than one falsehood has taken the blogosphere by storm. The questions about whether blogging news as it happens is ethical or not are very complicated, but no matter where you stand on the topic of current events blogs you are almost sure to agree that this movement has the potential to revolutionize how modern people get their news.

What is now called a podcast traces its orgins to the first ipod podcasts, the creation of distributed mp3 files that could be downloaded and played on Apple’s music player, the iPod. When the iPod came out, and users discovered what a wonderful thing it was for holding music, some people had the idea of loading things that weren’t necessarily songs. Some of the people that got their hands on the iPod took the route of reverse engineering the iPod and loading on different firmware, or operating system, but others had the idea of sharing small sound files that could be played on the iPod. The technology for distributing the files already existed, with RSS feeds. RSS feeds were a means of generating machine readable files that could share information between a server and a user. Many blogs already used them to keep readers up to date with the latest posts, but some hopeful podcasters had the idea of enclosing links to sound files within the RSS feed and downloading the file to the computer.

With the change in RSS feeds, ipod podcast took off, and podcasting became a popular way to share files. Users saw podcasting as a way to become radio hosts, or dj’s, and a variety of podcasts began popping up. Software was written to automatically check the RSS feeds, extract the links to the podcast episodes, and download the files. These programs became known as podcast clients.

By this time, podcasting had moved beyond the ipod, and they were not simply making an ipod podcast anymore. Some people had figured out how to use even the PlayStation Portable gaming console as a podcast player. It was more difficult that downloading podcasts to the ipod, since the PSP used a different format for it’s files, but PSP podcasts began popping up. In addition, podcasting made inroads to the wider audience of people without iPods, who simply saw podcasting as an extremely convenient way to receive news, music, and entertainment over the internet.

Today, while the iPod podcast type still exists, fewer people subscribe to podcasts as a way of gaining portable media files they can listen to anywhere. Although that is still an attractive part of podcasting, it seems to be eclipsed by the ease with which podcasting has become a content delivery system.

Now, podcasting has become tied up with the rising number of audio and video blogs, where blogging is done not by post, but through media files uploaded to the blog. These blogs, and podcasting in general, take advantage of the shrinking cost of broadband internet connections, and the rising number of people with high speed access to offer a picture of the internet rich with multimedia files.

Mike Crow presented today for our Dallas Millionaires meetup group. In my honest opinion, this was probably the BEST presentation I’ve heard and seen in a very, VERY long time. The best one goes to my daughter when she was talking about walking through the woods and beating someone over the head with a shovel. She was 18 months at the time. She told the story with so much enthusiasm.

Seriously though, Mike Crow truly delivered with his presentation on 10 Ways To More Referrals. His 10 ways are running through my head right now and I can’t stop thinking about them. I’m thinking about how I can incorporate what he does and grow my business even more.

Here’s a preview of his presentation with just the second tip:

These are things we should ALL be applying in our business already. If you’re not, you are seriously losing a lot of money. It doesn’t matter WHAT business you’re in. I suggest you listening to the whole thing. And since I’m not expecting a whole lot of responses (too bad if you don’t take advantage of this), I’ll send you the full audio presentation so you know how to get more referrals and more business.

We’re not talking about referrals for a network marketing business, I’m talking about building a relationship with your clients and making sure your clients are referring others to you. I get referrals from my clients, but the strategies Mike covers are honestly brain-dead simple to execute.

Here’s what you have to do:

1) Post something in the forum. Tell us something new. Introduce yourself if you never have. Tell us about what you’re working on now, etc. I’m not saying to do all of that, but to just make a post in the forum.

2) Comment on this blog entry that you’ve posted in the forum so I’ll have your email address. I’ll then send you the link to get this 1-hour presentation.

TO ME, this could be worth thousands of dollars in clients. When Mike asked me how much each client is worth, I told him $700-$800. I thought about it some more and realized I’m closer to $1,200. So I have to do everything I can to make my clients happy to get more referrals. I know what he taught will certainly do the trick.

So the time it takes to do what I said to do is well worth it.

Here’s another preview:

I forgot to mention: I’m leaving this offer open until March 1st. After that, it’s gone.

It is just one of those hard, cruel facts of life that the big boys have all the money they need to advertise and sell their products and us little guys are on advertising budgets that are so small they probably don’t add up to what the big boys spend on paper clips in a month. Competing with the big boys isn’t feasible…or possible, for that matter. So what are us little guys supposed to do? Niche marketing is our answer. We can’t advertise our products and services to the world at large but we don’t have to be able to do that to be able to make a pretty decent living… thanks to the Internet.

Niche marketing is selling specific products or services to a limited audience. One person with a computer, an internet connection and a good idea can go into business for himself on the Internet and target the people who would be most interested in what he has to sell and do all of the above on a very limited advertising budget.

Finding the right niche for what you have to sell isn’t really all that difficult. Just think about who the people are who would be most interested in what you have to sell. For example, if you have concocted a shampoo formula that will take chlorine out of a person’s hair, you can’t compete with giant companies that sell shampoo but you can narrow your market down to a niche and target sales to those who have swimming pools. You buy a domain, get a server, and build a website to advertise your product JUST to people who have swimming pools.

In essence, niche marketing is selling a product or service to those who want or need the product the most.

RSS directories are popular these days. RSS is widely used initially by news sites to allow others to syndicate their news stories. Now, a lot of other websites are using RSS. It is being used in flagging new forum headlines, auction listings, sales listings and others. The meaning of RSS is actually not clear. RSS may or may not be an acronym, actually. RSS may stand for Really Simple Syndication. But others say its Rich Site Summary and sometimes Rich Syndication Standard. The noted creator of RSS directory would be Netscape. It was released sometime in March 1999. The included a UserLand application which is called scripting news. Netscape stopped developing it, but UserLand continued doing so. Another company, RSS-DEV Working Group also released their own version.

RSS directories are sites that collate all RSS links and place them in different categories for other applications to use. This is similar to web hosting, only instead of web pages, they contain RSS links. These links will pop out on the website and when you click it, you will be directed to the main source of the link.

RSS poses a lot of uses for those who’d like to use the Internet for marketing or commerce. Here are the things you can do with it:

Create links from their website to yours.
If you are selling or promoting something, web traffic is important. The more RSS directory you upload, the more chances you have people seeing those and checking your site out. And if they have customized their sites with your RSS feeds, then they would get updated listings from your site to theirs automatically.

Collating analysis.
If you have a brand and you’d like to know how your competitor is doing, you may use RSS to see what they have so far. Get a directory of their product or service so you’ll know first hand what they have come out with. With the data gathered you now can plan on how you can counter them.

Tracking your own progress. If you can check out your competitor, of course you’d like to check out too how your business or product is going too. With an RSS directory of your own, you can know how many people are interested in what you are selling or offering.

Increases productivity.
Putting up RSS directories, let’s say for newsletters, adds efficiency to your company. If you use RSS for sending out newsletters instead of mailing them to recipients, you’d eliminate the possibility of your letter being classified as spam by users, or being sent in a closed mail account.

Increases efficiency.
There are a lot of websites or news articles that could be beneficial to your brand or company. At times, you’d like to add them to your site. Without the use of RSS, you’d have to copy the entire thing down and note where you got it. If you use RSS, then the headline and part of the story shows up on your site. And this is an automatic process now. If you use RSS, you just include the directory and automatically, the headline appears without you doing much.

Posting RSS directories could cost you some. But the benefits override it. Some sites even offer free RSS directory posting. If you are just starting up, you may like to check those out. The more RSS directory you have up, the more the possibility that you are sending out information to the people interested in your goods. Reason behind is that people will only get the RSS feeds that they are interested in. If they get yours, they sure are the target market.

Disseminating information online has become easier with RSS. The technology provided a cost-effective way of transferring facts and figures out. Utilizing it would definitely add up to your marketing approach. With it, you have an avenue of reaching out to even more people so easily.

RSS uses XML to syndicate pages. Though that sounds a little technical, there a lot of websites that has user-friendly interface to guide in building your directory. Go ahead and put up your RSS directory up now. RSS has proven to be essential. It has ceased to be an option; it has become a necessity.

The internet community is surely a big market place that you can’t ignore, especially if you’ve got an online enterprise. There are thousands, if not millions, of business owners that you can tap into the Internet. At the same time, the straightforward access that the internet provides also gives you as much competition as you can imagine.

Having a domain just isn’t enough to make your business running and ready to compete. You have to expose your website. Make it known. It has to be visible. It has to be frequently targeted by consumers and surfers.

Invest in marketing your internet site. There are basically two options available to you, the SEO and PPC. These two are probably the most desirable alternatives you can get for your internet business as strategy for search engine marketing.

1. SEO

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. Some researches indicate that 60% – 70% of internet surfers and users actually resort to using the Google search engine to find and locate web sites and pages, for any topic they desire. SEO is the process taken to make sure that the internet uses will find your website when ranked among the top results of a search. This way you can make sure that you will be visible and can clearly stand out from the rest.

To get a search engine optimization, you will have to build on your own internet site frequently hit internet links to web site pages. The process will involve IBLN or Independent Back-Linking Network, wherein hundreds or even thousands of pages will be utilized to promote a particular website of a client.

In SEO, there is no need for you to pay for the clicks although it will require you to spend time doing research to get a favorable combination of ads and target audience. The SEO process is a long term one. It requires months, 6 months at the least, before the proper outcome is fully achieved, but once the goal is accomplished, you will definitely get a steady source of profit.

2. PPC

PPC means Pay Per Click. It gives way advertising on a search engine. These are sponsored listings that you see whenever you make a search. There will be a charge whenever a visitor or web surfer clicks on any of your ads. There will first be a bidding process. The highest bidder for the price per click will definitely get the chance to be first listed in the search engine.

With this kind of advertising, you can still basically control your campaign as you get to create your own ad. You will also manage the target audience and still stay within the bounds of your budget. Most of the providers of PPC advertising will allow you to specify the target market, either by topic, industry or geographical location. You can also very well check if your ad gets to be shown at all and if it is competitive with the rest.

There are some guaranteed benefits when you get to maximize the PPC strategy.

PPC lets you advertise to the whole of the online community. It is also relatively easy to set up.

At first glance, PPC advertising may seem very expensive. Could it possibly happen that someone out there will go on clicking on your ad? This will definitely give you a large bill without the expected profit on your part. If this provides a lot of worries, be rest assured that there is a protection for you. Networks are able to recognize fraudulent clicks.

You can also set a budget for a certain period. The moment your budget has been used up by the target number of clicks, your ads will no longer be displayed until the next period you want it again displayed.

You will also be able to adjust well to changes in market demands and trends.

In deciding which of the two strategies will work right for you, think of your goals and of your resources. They definitely offer benefits and advantages that will work for your good. The better way to approach this two is to evaluate according to your short term and long term plans. Take the PPC course for your short term goals and choose SEO if you have long term ones.

There world is out there for you now. Just make sure you do what will work best for your entrepreneurial endeavors and visions. The secret to success lies in your hands. Just study your options well and you’ll get exactly what you want.

For anything to work well, care must be taken to make firm, workable plans to execute it and the same goes for website designs. With a well thought out website design, you will be able to create a site that generates multiple streams of revenue for you. In fact, may websites turn into online wasteland because they are not well planned and do not get a single visitor. Gradually, the webmaster will not be motivated to update it anymore and it turns into wasted cyberspace. The crucial point of planning your site is optimizing it for revenue if you want to gain any income from the site. Divide your site into major blocks, ordered by themes, and start building new pages and subsections in those blocks. For example, you might have a “food” section, an “accomodation” section and an “entertainment” section for a tourism site. You can then write and publish relevant articles in the respective sections to attract a stream of traffic that comes looking for further information.

When you have a broader, better-defined scope of themes for your website, you can sell space on your pages to people interested in advertising on your page. You can also earn from programs like Google’s Adsense and Yahoo! Search Marketing if people surf to those themed pages and click on the ads. For this very reason, the advertisement blocks on your pages need to be relevant to the content, so a themed page fits that criteria perfectly.

As Internet becomes more widespread, advertising on the Internet will bear more results than on magazines or offline media. Hence, start tapping in on this lucrative stream of profit right away!

Online marketing may have developed a sudden surge these past few years, but many in the know how have felt its rise even from way then. As more internet based businesses are put up, the need to develop new marketing skills and knowledge based on this new medium have arisen. More and more marketing strategies are being discovered and developed to cope with the changing face of business the business world. The demand for online marketing tips and strategies have drastically grown and a new form of business has been born, internet marketing strategies. While there are companies that are all too eager to help your site and business build a clientele for a fee, there also many ways that can spread the word about your sites subsistence in a more cost free way. One of this is Opt-in email marketing, also known as permission marketing.

Opt-in marketing requires the permission of a willing customer to subscribe to your marketing materials, materials that take form in newsletters, catalogs and promotional mailings via e-mail. The more opt-in marketing mail is sent, the more chances there is to bag sales and more sales. To do this, you must build a list of all those who wants to subscribe to your opt-in marketing list.

From your list, you will get your targeted customer, this is a good list since they already have shown interest in what you have to show and sell since they have willingly signed in for your list. These are the people who have liked what they have seen in your site and have decided they want to see more and maybe even purchase what ever product or service your company and site has to offer.

Many people would think that building their lists would take hard work and a lot of time to build and collect names and addresses. This is not so, it takes a bit of patience and some strategies but in doing this list, you open your site and your business to a whole new world of target market. Take the effort to take your business to a new level, if traffic increase and good profits are what you want, an opt-in list will do wonders for your business venture.

There are many sources and articles in the internet available for everyone to read and follow in building a list. Sometimes they may be confusing because there are so many and there different ways. Different groups of people would have different approaches in building an opt-in list, but no matter how diverse many methods are, there are always some crucial things to do to build your list. Here are four of them.

1) Put up a good web form in your site that immediately follows the end of your content. While some may say this is too soon to subscribe for a website visitors application, try to remember that your homepage should provide a quick good impression. If somehow a website visitor finds something that he or she doesn’t like and turns them off, they may just forget about signing up.

A good web form for subscribing to an opt-in list is not hard to do. Just write a simple short statement about how they would like to see more and get updated about the site. Then there should be an area where they could put in their names and e-mail address. This web form will automatically save and send you the data’s inputted. As more people sign in, your list will be growing.

2) As mentioned in the first tip, make your homepage very, very impressive. You need to have well written articles and descriptions of your site. Depending on what your site is all about, you need to capture your website visitor’s fancy. Make your site useful and very easy to use. Do not expect everyone to be tech savvy. Invest in having good programming in your site, make your graphics beautiful but don’t over do it.

Don’t waste your time making the homepage too overly large megabyte wise. Not all people have dedicated T1 connections, the faster your site gets loaded, the better. Go for a look that borders between simplicity and sophisticated knowledge.

3) Provide good service and products. A return customer is more likely to bring in more business. Even then and now, a satisfied customer will recommend a business always. Word of mouth and recommendations alone can rake in more business than an expensive ad. As your clientele roster grows so shall your list. With more members on the list, the more people will get to know about what you have new to offer.

4) Keep a clean and private list. Never lose the trust your customers have entrusted you. If you provide e-mails to others and they get spammed, many will probably unsubscribe to you. Remember, a good reputation will drive in more traffic and subscribers as well as strengthen the loyalty of your customers.
