SEO Meetup Last Night Was Not Impressive

I was eager to be there and listen to what these guys had to say about SEO trends. Too bad I didn’t bring my digital recorder. I only thought about it as soon as I sat down in the bright red chair, which I keep sliding in. I was not impressed with the time management. I was very surprised and disappointed with the information they provided and the answers they gave. Read more

Kevin Lam Invited To Speak At A Local High School

Alright, so I woke up this morning to respond to a bunch of clients about their website, their sales copy, their marketing and so on. Pretty normal Monday morning I guess :) . I mean, one marketing prospect finally responded after a week, but was very excited to talk to us. One client had exciting news that he’s getting all sorts of JVs and we are on our way to generating over $300,000 in sales. I really want to be over $500,000 and possibly even double that. Read more

Getting More Paid Clicks: The Bing Buster.

We’re actually not very big fans of Bing, but after their first month’s release in the market, their biggest share gain was finally reached. According to Efficient Frontier, Microsoft’s paid click has made it’s 44 percent increased from July to the first week of August. The last increased that they have experienced was only a very low thirteen percent. Read more

Weekend-Fun: New Wireless Microphone Can Have A Smell To It

I was on amazon searching for a wireless microphone system. I’m leaning towards the Sony Professional Quality 900 MHz Wireless Microphone System (Model# WCS-999) or the Audio-Technica ATR288W Wireless Microphone System (Includes ATR35s, ATR20), but I came across another option that has a really funny description: Read more

Don’t Be Impressed With Twitter Followers

There are people out there who have 20,000, 60,000 and even 80,000 followers, but that’s nothing to be impressed about. There’s just way too many programs out there that can grow your Twitter followership overnight on autopilot. So why do people feel so overwhelmed and impressed by these folks is beyond me? Read more

How To Spot A Scam Without Super Natural Powers

Alright, so I was going to Alexa just to check the “Movers and Shakers” chart. Well, mainly because I just realized that Google is now #1. I remembered Yahoo! being #1 on Alexa for the longest time. I wonder when it happened. Anyway, I looked to the right of the screen and there was an ad about someone making “$63/Hr Part-Time!” Yeah, I was curious to see what she was doing. Read more

Twitter’s Over Capacity – Don’t See This Everyday

This really isn’t even a real post, I just wanted to point out that Twitter was “over capacity” today. It’s a lot cooler seeing this message than nothing showing up at all. Also, you can follow us on Twitter: http://twitter.com/bigtexasseo Read more

Hours Spent At The Computer

How long do you spend in front of your computer? 1 hour? 2 hours? 6 hours or more?!

Well, you better make sure you’re doing something for that – SIT UP STRAIGHT! Your posture, whether you’re sitting down or standing up, combined with correct breathing have a definite effect on the human body, and in turn, the human mind. Slouching in your chair for hours at a time will cramp your back and will later cause back injuries. Sitting up straight keeps your back aligned and out of harms way.

I have a roommate who slouches while walking AND standing up. When he DOES straighten his back he practically grows 4-6 inches. It threw me off guard when I one day found out he was 6′1 and not 5′9. And what do you think he complains about the most? Yep, his back hurts. I wonder why.

People have also asked me how I continue to keep my abs so tone and in shape even though I almost never do sit-ups and crunches. It all has to do with keeping it controled with both diet and excercising without excercising? I know, it doesn’t make sense to you now but let me explain.

I excercise without excercising because throughout my entire day I am CONSTANTLY flexing my stomach and keeping my 6-packed formed. I actively, and practically unconsciously now, flex it in which causes the muscle to do some work without adding full resistance such as doing situps and crunches.

No, I don’t tighten it to the point of exhaustion or so tight that it’s hard to breathe. I just flex it enough to feel that I AM flexing it. You can try it at any time of the day. For instance, you’re sitting in your chair right now, right? Go ahead, sit up straight and then slightly tighten your abs. Remember, it’s not suppose to hurt, breathe steadily and smoothly.

Give that a try twice a day for 5-10 minutes and over time you will be comfortable with it and forget that you’re even doing that. Am I a licensed trainer? No, but I know through experience and by being a martial arts instructor. I helped a friend of mine trim down more than 30 lbs in a matter of months without starving him or making him run 10-15 miles a day.

You may also be wondering why I even talk about sitting posture and working out in my blog. It’s because it has to do with your health, your well-being and eventually the outcome of your online business. If your back is hurting will you have a lot of time to sit-down and work on your business? If you’re out of shape and in bad health will you have the time or focus to work on your business? Of course not. That is why you should take care of yourself and understand that part of being successful in business you have to be aware of your personal well-being.
