This was actually my first time seriously ripping apart my Averatec 6200 laptop. I’ve replaced the hard drive, memory and cd/dvd player before, but this time I had to dig in for the dc jack, which required just about everything off. After months of trying to rig the wires a certain way in order for it to charge my battery, it just wasn’t working any more. I took it apart and found out that one of the contacts for the dc jack was burnt off. Read more
